On Tuesday, June 20th, 2023, the Ho West District Assembly (HWDA) held its Second Quarter District Planning and Coordinating Unit (DPCU) meeting at the District Assembly Hall to discuss strategies for advancing the district’s development agenda and discuss the 2023 First Quarter Progress Report of various Departments/Units.
The District Coordinating Director, who served as the Chairman of the meeting, welcomed members. He stated the crucial role planning and coordination play in decision making for effective implementation of various programs and projects within the district.
The District Planning Officer, Mr. Ebenezer Nkrumah, who served as the Secretary led members to review and discuss the minutes of the previous meeting. After thorough deliberations, the minutes were accepted as true representation of the proceedings and was adopted as a working document.
Various Heads of Departments also presented their 2023 First Quarter Progress Reports. This provided members the opportunity to share updates on ongoing projects, highlight achievements, address challenges, and proposed solutions to ensure the effective implementation of activities.
The Planning Officer, Mr. Ebenezer Nkrumah, also introduced the new quarterly progress reporting format to members. The format aimed to enhance data development to track progress of Departments/Units and the entire district to inform decision making at the Local, Regional and National Level.
Mr. Nkrumah updated members on various ongoing projects in the district. These updates served to inform them about the current state of affairs, address any concerns, and promote a shared understanding of the district’s development initiatives.
The meeting saw participants from the Department of Agriculture, Social Welfare/Community Development, Statistics, Physical Planning, Works, Finance and Human Resource Departments, Environmental Health and Sanitation Unit, Procurement, Internal Audit and Budget Units, GHS, GES, Complimentary Education Agency (CEA), Chairman for Development Planning Sub-committee, Centre for National Culture and Kalakpa Resource Reserve (KRR)
